CourseHorse invited me to Cook&Go’s Brazilian Menu class last week, and I brought along a few fellow food bloggers to join me
in the kitchen. After donning an apron and pouring a glass of wine for each
student, our instructor, who’s also a trained chef, began passing out
ingredients to prepare our first course. He demonstrated each step and was
there to answer any question along the way - from the safest way to handle a
sharp knife to the health benefits of each ingredient in our meal.
(Sweet Avocado with Cachaca Watermelon Relish) |
The Brazilian Class menu featured Prawn and Cucumber
Soup, Chicken Skewer XiXim Style and Sweet Avocado with Cachaca Relish for
dessert. The soup only took a few minutes to put together for a fresh and light
first course. I can’t wait to make this cold seafood soup on my own for my next apartment gathering. For our main dish, we blended a smooth white bean puree to
serve with lime marinated chicken skewers, which would be pan cooked at home
after class for a hearty yet healthy plate. The dessert was also simple to make
and packed with fresh fruits and veggies. This dessert tasted indulgent, but
was all natural and reminiscent of guacamole, but with a sweet twist.
