When the popular dating site HowAboutWe asked me to
check out their recently launched HowAboutWe for Couples subscription service,
I couldn’t resist taking them up on their offer for a free delicious date night with my
guy.
If you missed my first post, HowAboutWe for
Couples is a subscription service designed specifically for those in a relationship. Each
month, you and your significant other receive a new “DateBook” filled with pre-planned, one-of-a-kind
experiences in your city. Of course there’s always something exciting to do on
a date in NYC, but this new subscription site is offering curated dates to
make your nights out with your loved one even more special!
After my boyfriend got over mono this holiday
season, we finally attended our booked date this past week. “In Due Course” featured a four-course dinner at chef Todd English’s Olives,
including an appetizer, pasta to share, an entree for two, three glasses of wine
(per guest) and a chef’s dessert selection. As a foodie blogger and freelance
writer in the world of New York City dining, this HowAboutWe for Couples date
was a must-book for me!
When we entered Olives, we were immediately whisked away from the commotion of Union Square and transported into a classy hotel bar for what felt like a sexy dinner meeting. Once we checked in with our reservation and mentioned HowABoutWe, we were seated with our special menu and served by an attentive and friendly waiter who welcomed us with glasses of Prosecco for a dinner date toast.

Crispy Carpetbaggers started our meal as a cozy
comfort food bite. Truffle mash potatoes were placed on an oyster shell, then
layered with a crispy fried oyster and topped with melt-in-your-mouth beef carpaccio.
For the pasta course, we chose Rabbit Taglietelle, featuring a slow cooked
rabbit leg ragout, foraged mushrooms and parmigiano reggiano. With this heavier
fare, we followed with a lighter main course of Branzino A La Plancha topped
with lump crab. Dessert arrived as a fried banana and caramel gelato with sea
salt. We were full (and a bit tipsy) after this perfect winter season date night at Olives!
A HowAboutWe for Couples membership is only $22 per
month and includes free HowAboutWe Dates and up to to 75% off other HowAboutWe
Dates outs, like the "In Due Course" night we attended or at home dates, like a chef prepared brunch delivered to your apartment for a lazy Sunday, tucked under the covers for a few extra hours. Check out the January "DateBook" here.
Now, go on and sign up for HowAboutWe for Couples and
book a date night asap. Thanks to the HowAboutWe team for a lovely date night

It will be a nice place to settle those first date. As we all know, first impressions last and nothing like treating a girl to a nice place over at the place.
