Little Muenster

Warm, crunchy, gooey comfort food.  Who doesn’t love grilled cheese?  (Sorry, lactose intolerant readers)  Little Muenster, a gourmet grilled cheese joint, opened in the Lower East Side last month to the delight of downtown cheese lovers, late night revelers, and grown-ups who still feel like a kid at heart.

If you were lucky, you bought (or were gifted by a thoughtful guy, like my guy) a passport for 10 grilled cheeses at Little Muenster from Urbandaddy.  For those not as blessed with VIP access to Little Muenster for the coming months, no worries!  Each grilled cheese is reasonably priced at under $10 a sandwich.  Add a bowl of creamy tomato soup for only $1.25 (and yes, you will want to do this). Check out the full menu here.
Make sure to try the Gruyere (with chevre, leek confit, and pancetta on French sourdough) for just the right mix of cheeses, a little onion kick, and the perfect thinly sliced salty meat.

Stop by Little Muenster for a cheap lunch break when shopping in the LES or after a few too many cocktails at the nearby nightlife spots to soak up the booze at 3am.
Little Muenster.  100 Stanton Street.
