Fatta Cuckoo Launches Winter Menu


The Lower East Side marks an eclectic dining destination for foodies.  From Pizzerias to French bistros, sushi to a grilled-cheese-only shop, this downtown neighborhood has it all.  While the LES doesn’t lack amazing restaurants, there are a few special gems in the crowd of quality cuisines. 
Warm up this winter at the cozy Fatta Cuckoo with dishes made with love by Chef Chris Mitchell.   The lovely owner Leah Tinari and Chef Chris Mitchell planned a special tasting for Mckenzie, Sarah, James and I to indulge in 9 courses of their recently launched winter menu.  Stand out dishes include Handmade Lobster Ravioli (with Marechiaro Sauce with Lemon Zest, Chive and Olave), Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin (over Sweet Potato Mash with Smokey Chili Sauce), and Butternut Squash Risotto (with Crispy Sage and Butternut Seed Oil).
Fatta Cuckoo is a shining star on bustling Clinton Street.  While categorized as a small American menu, Chef Chris’s culinary influences include his southern roots, love for spice and a traditional French culinary training.  Chef Chris buys his seafood daily from Essex Street and seasonal veggies from Union Square.  Shopping local brings the freshest available ingredients into Fatta Cuckoo’s kitchen.
With a straightforward, no fuss menu, the cocktails created by the mixologist Christian pair perfectly.  These dangerous drinks are what you’d expect at a secret basement bar in Soho.  From the signature Fatta Gimlet, the Barnstormer, and a homemade eggnog for the holidays, each guest will leave a bit more than tipsy.
