People's Pops East Village Pop-Up Shop

People's Pops Popsicle Pop-Up stand opened to the relief of sweaty, over-heated Manhattanites last month on East 7th Street, the East Village's foodie destination block.

Maintaining People's Pops' tradition of serving up fresh, locally sourced fruit pops and shaved ice, this itsy bitsy stand, squished between the corner deli, Caracas Arepa Bar and Luke's Lobster, has a handful of delicious options to choose from, rotating on the regular.  The ice pops ($3.50) have been available in flavors ranging from Straight Up Strawberry, Red Plum Basil, Rhubarb Elderflower, and Raspberry Basil.  The shave ice ($2.50) is offered in two daily varieties, recently featuring Red Plum, Sour Cherry, and Sweet Rhubarb.  These icy treats are much more sophisticated than your childhood slushies.

People's Pops changes flavors to reflect the season and the guaranteed freshness of each frozen batch.  The pop-up location will stick around until Oct. 15th, open 5pm-midnight on weekdays and noon-midnight on weekends.
People's Pops.  118 1st Avenue (at 7th St.)
